Possible causes and solutions:
The "Unseen" Pollution:
Artifical radiation from satelites, cellphones, microwaves, appliances that emit radiation. (Not trying to "blame", would be good to create a balance rather than overuse of these things)
It takes 1000 years for radiation to disperse on earth and warms the planet in the process.
Chemicals - Benezine, trichloride-ethelyns, pharmaceuticals, pesticides, herbicides, etc... are toxic to the environment, but they also act as a magnifier to increase the heat from artifical forms of radiation. (What happens to an ant under a magnifying glass? Might be mankind, in the future - unless we can curb pollutional issues)
Next time you use detergent or fabric softener ... call the (800) number listed...ask them if their products contain benezine or trichloride-ethelyns... I called : Dynamo, Snuggle, Cuddle up, don't contain these chemicals. There are also plant based detergents: Essentials, for laundry and house cleaning... all plant based.
As with chemicals, by-products from manufacturing, fuel sources and such... magnifying effect and puts holes in the biosphere (ozone).
The "seen" pollution:
An increase in landfills due to "product convenience". Because we would rather purchase items that are "individually wrapped", we create more trash. Now if society would still want convenience...make the items recycleable. (Make those kid juice boxes without wax so each container can be recycled.)
Paper from paper rather than paper from trees. There are products we could purchase at the store that are 100% post consumer recycled products...start utilizing these where we can...tissues, toilet paper, paper towels, composition books. We should support companies that are trying to utilize recyclying for the pckaging of their products... take notice next time you purchase something at the store... on the bottom or side - the box probably states 100% recycled...Kudo to these companies for their efforts.
We need to start recognizing efforts for those who are trying to better control pollutional issues. Would give society encouragement to try to find more ways to help this endeavor.
Companies should be given permission to "donate" items counted as discontinued rather than throwing them away...This would need government reform. Companies throw things away to get a tax break...they should be allowed to donate these items to get a tax break.
Research other forms of recycling:
We recycle #1 and #2 plastics, but all plastics have the potential to be recycled...especially the carbon based plastics...yep...carbon based.
Green roofs on houses with added activated carbon could potentially make a huge impact to reduce air pollution. Nasa did a study where adding activated carbon to soil in houseplants increases the effectiveness of "decontaminating" our air supply. If we could accomplish this on roofs utilizing native unaltered plants...we could: Clean the air, purify storm water naturally, and have an effective method to insulate our houses in cold weather...cool our houses in warm weather.
WHO WOULD LIKE TO GET RID OF YOUR ELECTRIC BILL? Start researching solar panels...60 panels is enough to run an average house. This is a renewable energy source.
One suggestion to better health, we should start utilizing local farmers for our products who grow genetically unaltered fruits and vegetables...these plants would have a natural immunity toward all the outbreaks of "salmonella' that seems to be occurring too often in today's society. This would also reduce the antibiotic abuse.
Forms of techno-medicinal practices are not "global friendly" either.
These are some causes, and possibly some suggestions regarding global warming.
